Bike hire Toronto/Vancouver
My mum and dad (both not very techy on the computers) are looking at going to canada next summer some time to either Toronto or Vancouver. At some point while they are out there they would like to hire a bike (anything would do but a Harley would be nice) for between a week to 2 weeks
Weve looked around on the internet at a few places but cant seem to find that many that do it and the ones that do it are quite expensive. What they would really is a Harley with panniers/luggage, but as i said before any bike would be ok as long as its comfy for 2 up riding and has luggage added in as they will be travelling on the bike and not just using it to go from one place and back again. If possible they would like to take the bike down into amercia or somewhere else in canada and leave the bike there instead of having to comeback to the same area/place to drop the bike off. Any replies very welcome:scooter: |
I don't know how they rent Harleys in Canada but suspect its similar to how they do it in the US.
Requirements:
There will likely be an additional charge for mileage exceeding 400 miles per day. And quite likely, full coverage insurance on the bike will result in yet another surcharge of $20 - $30 per day. Also consider this. You have stated a desire to rent a motorcycle at one location and drop it off at another. I am not sure this is even possible. I'm guessing if it is possible, it will cost BIG MONEY. You see, you'll be renting a motorcycle from an individual dealership, and they want the motorcycle returned there. One will be expected to pay all costs to get the bike back to the dealership. I'd have to think renting a bike in Canada and dropping it off in the US (if its even possible) would have a $1000 surcharge. And during "special" events, such as when the Sturgis Motorcycle takes place (Aug 4 - Aug 11th), availibility may be nonexistent. I wish you the best. It won't be cheap to rent a Harley for 2 weeks. |
Bike rental in Vancouver
I was in Vancouver two years ago and rented a bike. I managed to get a new or nearly new VFR 800; which I stranged never liked very much! I rented it from a place down my the seaplane terminal downtown. Great service and they had all kinds of bikes, BMW's ... and two ST 1100's I think.
I found the place the old fashioned way; yellow pages. carbster09 |
