Caribean Island hopping south?
 

Does anyone have info on logistical possibilities of island hopping from Miami towards South America? (solo with bike) It would be cool to see the many island nations and avoid the mess in central America nowadays. But only if its not crazy expensive to do so.

will cost you 4 arms and 22 legs. there are no easy ways to get a bike from island to island. most inter-island transport is by small plane. yes, there are boats, but good luck getting schedules and info ahead of time. i wouldn't want to even think about what a nightmare getting a tvip will be since i'm fairly certain that there maybe 2 people every 20 years that want to do such a thing.

oh, and most of the islands are small enough to ride in less than one day without breaking a single law.

The Forwood's did it because they took the time to make it happen and I think they did not ask if it could be done, they just did it.

If I were to plan such an idea I would travel first to southern Mexico and find a boat to take me to Cuba, then try to bounce around the islands. If you end in Cuba you could likely get a boat to South America.
