Crossing from Canada to US - Australian bike
 

Title is self explanitory. What paperwork or problems are there crossing from Canada into the US as an Aussie on an Aussie bike?

Was the bike/model ever sold in the US. If not you will need EPA approval for a temp import prior to arriving in the US. This takes about 6 weeks.

However, on the two occasions I have crossed from Canada to the US no one has ever asked to see the paper work.

Maximum time to cross has been about 20 mins. Just have all your registration docs etc.

Did a trip from nova scotia to alaska on my Dutch Tiger, crossed the us/canada border 15 times with no problems or extra paperwork. I took an us insurance but never asked for.

we drove into the USA in 2011 on our Africa twins, 45 minutes only. Easy. make sure you have insurance.

Dead easy did it several times this years only in Alaska were we asked for our UK registration document. They were normally interested in our route as they don't usually see 2 ladies riding across the US

You will to need to show your passport and remove your helmet

Crossing time varied from 5mjn to 1hr
