Will be in San Franisco in a couple of weeks,hope to purchase some riding gear,before I start off to Central and South America,any advise on where to go?

I can recommend Scuderia West in San Francisco, Cycle Gear at various locations around the SF Bay Area, and the new Dainese store in SF on South Van Ness, just south of Market Street. And BMW of SF has a good selection of BMW apparel.

As John mentioned, Road Rider in San Jose is also an excellent choice.

It's worth mentioning that all of these locations (Scuderia, Cycle Gear, Dianese store, and BMWSF) are within walking distance from each other. BMWSF and the Dianese store are across the street.
