shipping bike
Hi,
I have looked online but still can not find any quotes, I am looking to ship a honda CG125 to either USA or ideally Canada. can some one give me an idea of possible costs and possible companies who can do the shipping? I am only looking to do this by air . thanks a lot |
Shipping company
My girlfriend just shipped from UK to USA, the folks she used weren't great, but few transport companies are (in my opinion).
But I know they do air freight as well as sea. Give them a try, but do get as many quotes as you can, they are: Hartsmere Logistics Ltd 01767 676100 Ask for Mike, and maybe say Charlotte recommended them. I used a company called Kingstown once, but not sure if they do air shipping. |

try Air Parcel Express..just got a quote for 2 bikes US to Europe..$2000.via air..shipping seems to be more..

Try Motorcycle express, we used them from Toronto (CAN) to London (UK) 2 years ago, not the cheapest but made life really easy as the bikes were on the same flight as us so we just picked them up from customs and rode away.
All the best Adam |

Thanks for all the replies, I looked into all of them and the quotes seem to be in the region of $1500-$2000 to ship oneway. This is more than i expected as its only a CG125, so i guess i will have to ship my bicycle and do the trip by cycling instead.
thanks for the info, hopefully someone else will also find it usefull |
I airfreighted my BMW f650GS from London to Alaska with James Cargo. They were first class and collected my bike, crated it and I collected it in Anchorage with no problems at all - all the paperwork was simple and they didn't mind me asking a million questions!!
Motorcycle Shipping, Transport and Freight I don't think they fly bikes to Canada but they do to all of America. Kate |
Shipping company
Hi
You can also try to contact: Wallenius Wilhelmson I found their name on this page : http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tri...t/shipping.php I have contacted their office in Zeebruge (Belgium) after calling their office here in Paris to have a quote for shipping my 1200 GS adv from Europe (Zeebrugge) to the states and I just receveid their answer: Port of loading : ZeebruggeI have decided yet where and where I go but all the comments I have read about them are very. Cheers Pierre |
Wallenius Wilhelmson I believe sail to the USA using a RORO service, no crating of the bike, I read about it here on the HUBB somewhere! From what I gather their prices are reasonable, look forward to hearing how you get on.
All the best. |
Shipping with Roro
Hi
Ye I forgot to mention that it's a RORO service. I am planning to leave Europe between mi-january and mi-february. I will (off course) post a comment Pierre |
Buy in the USA
I would suggest you consider buying in the USA.
Bikes are cheap as chips here. I saw an XT225 for $500 recently, and nearly bought it for the hell of it. Get a bike here, do your trip, and then sell it. Chances are you could make money on it, and even if you lose a couple hundred bucks it'll be a damn sight less than shipping. Or is your heart set on the CG? (if so, why?) Think outside the box :-) |
Shipping and insurance
Hello
I just discovered that my French (European) insurance doesn't work in the US. I found a couple of US company selling contracts (on this page: International Motorcycle Insurance - webBikeWorld) but it seems very expensive. Does anybody knows other way ? Is it possible to buy insurance at the destination harbour ? I have read that the custom will only release the bike if it's insured (which honestly seems locigal) Thanks Pierre |
