Tcat 2020
Ok, gone back as far as 2016, nothing to read.... Anyone any input..??
I'm gearing up for a 4 month ride starting in June 2020. Full east (Signal Hill, St Johns) to hopefully Anchorage or at the very least somewhere north of Vancover in British Columbia. Be good having said all that to pick off Yukon and dip the toe into Alaska/McCarthy. Expecting to find a third party for the whole ride is unrealistic but would be great to be joined for various sections if anyone could generate a little interest …??? Best Regards Everyone MEZ |
You might be better posting on ADVrider.
By the way as a European I can’t understand much of your post - what is Tcat? |
Tcat is the Trans Canada Trail! :)
And why not start a discussion here, there's lots of travellers would want to do this ride - I'd love to myself, but not enough time :( I hope to hear more about your ride! |

I was thinking of doing the Quebec section starting in Baie Comeau. in June 2020.
What kind of bike will you be riding? Will you have full camping gear? |

Hi JBF, I'm taking my little Honda. It's a CRF250L with a CBF500 engine fitted. I intend to camp for the vast majority of the trip with a target duration of around 4 months for the full east to west. I don't have an exact date but again intend to have the bike freighted out for a June set-off, hope that puts you in the picture better... Mez |
Well well, looking back here at this thread COVID you have a lot to answer for...!![emoji35][emoji35]
We got close to doing it, flights booked & payed for etc but restrictions kicked in and poo-poo'd the whole gig. We are looking again this year 2022 at the possibility to get over and kick it off with a barrow load of optimism...!! Here's hoping....[emoji1696][emoji1696][emoji1696][emoji965][emoji100] Sent from my SM-G781B using Tapatalk |
Fingers crossed for you[emoji1696]
I was in the same place with the TAT. Initially a firm 2020 plan that had to be deferred, then was hoping 2022, but I’ve now moved that to 2023 (in the hope things settle down and Air Canada come back on stream for shipping) and planning some time on the TET in 2022 instead. |
Tcat 2022
OK, fingers crossed here, we have charged our muskets with ultra dry powder now for a very enthused shot at the TCAT this year. We are in talks with shipping, airline and customs agents to make this happen along with a bucket load of optimism...!!!
Also now, two very similar bikes will be shipped/flown out to attempt a full assault on the TCAT.. |

I think as 2023 gets closer, and COVID / INFLUENZA / RSV and who knows what else eases off, you'll find more interest.
I might even join you for a bit of it in BC :) Is your timeline the same, or changing? Check the HU Events schedule! |
