Accomodation in Moscow
Has any one found any reasonable priced accomodation in or around Moscow, with safe parking for the bike, that they would recommend?
We need an address for our visa application! Thanks, Pooley. www.pooleglobaltrek.com |

A couple of ideas on this thread -http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...d-moscow-52675
I still haven't checked out parking round Hostal Chocolate, but I can when I get back next month. |
Godzillas
Godzilla's hostel. It's very good and the manager (who is a yank) has a 1200GS Adv. It's situated right across from the police station and bikes have the hostel cameras trained on them. Just under $30 a night and is pretty much a 'boutique hostel'. If you check on my site in my signature, you'll see me fixing my clutch right outside of it!

first,
Tony. I remember I owe you a meat pie. when in Msk just give me a sign. second, i have a spare room in my house with a good sofa and a garage big enough for guest bikes. it was all planned as B&B so it's a kind of separate from the rest of the house. there is a bathroom with washing machine and the backyard for extra tents if you are more then 2 people. as me and my man are deep in the industry it's easy to settle all questions with service, spareparts, tires and further navigation. i think 50eu will do for no matter how many people. the only odd thing is the house is outside Msk, 2km away from Sheremetievo airport, 3.8 km from Leningradskoye Schosse. it's 20 min straight to Kremlin from us by bike or an hour by public transport. for those who ever faced offroadpeople it's gonna be always for free :cool4: |
Moscow accommodation
That Motobelka's spare room in outer district of Moscow was my most comfortable and pleasant rest, after almost 5000 km in 10 days.
Every day, after 10 hours of riding I was looking for quite expensive accommodation in gostinicas and hotels. I must admit that when arrive in late afternoon in center of Moscow I have no power to start looking for high priced, overbooked hostels with dormitories. In no time I rode in new builded settlement, with quiet room, hot shower and washing machine. Not to be mentioned WI-FI, and (bonus) delicious meal... After long sleep and breakfast I take fast local train to 30 min distant center of Moscow...not worrying about my parked machine and stuff. That was the way I wish to be here.... Only thing I was concerned was my machines rear brake pads, which I think was near the end... And then ...it appears that Motobelka and her husband are at the source of information. Moreover they are in center of business for motorcycle in Russia and surroundings :) Telephones are ringing all the time for spare parts or service... Am I in heaven? Finally, they are located on the right place. Next day I have to ride 750 km for Piter and don't have to spend hours trapped in traffic in Moscow center. Just hit the highway... |
