Almaty customs clearance.
I am freighting my bike to Almaty next month. Anybody here have any experience in clearing a bike through customs? Any agents you can recommend to ease the process? Any insight gratefully received.
Cheers all. |
I recently spoke to www.motofreight.com about this very subject and they are quite knowledgeable. That said I was proposing to ship the bike via them.

Our receiving agent was MORY LDI KAZAKHSTAN in Almaty. You'll have to Google their contact details. Don't know if they still even exist 11 years later... I recall everything went seamlessly, including being met off my flight at Almaty airport by their representative where the customs paperwork for my bike's entry was done before taking a taxi to the hotel. A day or 2 later we were taken to a freight depot where we unloaded the container. In 2019 I shipped another bike from South America to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan (only a couple of 100 km from Almaty...) via Warsaw in Poland with www.advfactory.com I can recommend them. Everything was done by them and very easy. Tell Sambor I sent you :thumbup1: |
Thanks both. I was going to use Sambor, but his cargo was too early for me this year. I will try and find info on the guy you mentioned Chris. I have contacted Motofreight to get a comparative quote.
Cheers. |
Chris; I can find no trace of your contact. I guess they have ceased trading. I've fired off emails to several prospective agents. See what comes back.
Motofreight came in with a quote £500 more than what I was quoted elsewhere; oh well........! Anyone else with any potential contacts? Cheers. |
