Altai floodings
 

I read the Altai region has suffered some bad floodings in the last few weeks and I'm sorry for the people living in the area.

Some reports says a few roads and bridges have been flooded and destroyed, but rebuilding has already started .

As this is an area many of us are supposed to travel through in the coming weeks/months, if anybody has fresh info and maps, I think it will be helpful

stay away from the lowlands around Barnaul and Biysk. If you go via the hills you are more likely to be OK

Thank you Walter, so you think that the road though Ust Kamenogorsk/Shemonaikha/Zmeinogorsk/Petropavlovskoe should be not affected by the floodings, or less affected?

The main reason I'm a bit worried about conditions is that I read that a few bridges have been destroyed...

Anyway, I think we will have some first hand impression soon, as Maria is supposed to ride that road in a few days...
