Anybody riding Siberia this year?
 

The forum seems very quiet about Siberia. Is anyone planning to ride BAM, Vilnuisky trakt, 110, OSR and any other road in Siberia this year?

I will be in UB around July 6th, if anyone is interested by some Siberian tour. I am also happy to join another team.

Unfortunately, looks like you and I will be travelling in opposite directions. Not doing anything too adventurous, myself. Just riding from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar to meet up with my husband, who will be on his way back from Beijing to Ireland ... (long story). I plan to leave Moscow next Saturday 4th. (Wow, looks strange posting that from the Isle of Wight!) Aim to be in Ulaanbaatar around 20th.

Would also be interested to hear from anyone with whom I may cross paths.

I'm looking to do 110 ,BAM ,osr in 2016

I have a russian visa that starts on 3rd August and I plan to cross the border at Semey and ride to Novosibirsk Irkutsk and Khabarovsk on the way to Vladivostok.. (a long way I think!)

Will need to cover some miles !

Maybe a few miles by rail might not be a bad idea

I will be in Irkutsk in a few days, then riding north and in Yakutsk in a few weeks.

I was persuaded against riding Trans-Siberia on my own, so have chickened out and opted for the train. I'm currently in Omsk and should arrive (with my bike) in Irkutsk on Monday 13th, if anyone is about. I'll ride from there to Ulan Ude, and should arrive Ulaanbaatar on 18th.

Friend of mine will start solo today west BAM from Tynda to Baikal. He already made solo from Magadan via summer ROB to Yakutsk. Peter rides Africa Twin.

Riding the BAM on an Africa Twin will be challenge!

I may cross him after the BAM then. Will be in Irkutsk in 2 days, then riding north.

@mrsroynie: I may miss you by a day or 2 in Irkutsk, but we may cross each other.

hmmm, this would be interesting to read about, is he doing a blog or ride report? Don't recall reading about any solo trips on the OSR in a few years.

By doing the OSR and BAM in July he is getting the best weather. Nice to see an Africa twin there. Havent seen an Africa Twin do either the OSR or Western BAM before. I suspect he is the first AT on those roads, and first Slovene I can think of too.

Terry Brown is in the Russian Altai at the moment heading for Mongolia.

yes, you are right. First slovene there. If I would not have last year in March horrible bike traffic accident, I have to ride this part this year too.

p.s. xChallenge still made me some problems, but I found what I have to fix.

Anyone else attempting OSR and/or Western BAM this year? I'll pick up my XChallenge from storage in Ulaanbaatar at the end of July. Would love to go with a keen rider.

Hi, @boarder. Pictures are taken by Peter aka dr. Speed. I just publish them. His current position is 15 km before famous Vitim river bridge. Already pass Kunada river and village. Tomorrow he will pass Taksimo and major west BAM traps will left behind. He needed three days only from Tynda to Vitim. Super fast.
