I am in Bishkek now with a BMW K100, It is hard to drive on the roads here.
Also Petrol is Hard to find, maybe you can get som petrol from Turmenistan that som people are selling here. Asking around wil help and Hotel managers ar als helfol to get the petrol, having on or two jerrycans with you is neccecery. I enterd Uzbekistan via Bejneu, it is an amazing trip and now twoo weeks on the road from Amsterdam. |
Sorry it was not Bishkek but Buchara in Uzbekistan.
After 10000Km my K100 is RIP, cardan broken. It happends in the Baikonur region en I left my bike there because the damage is now total more than 2000 euro when I repair it bij myself. Going out of Kazachstan without Bike is inpossible but I did it, when you travel by train there is no customs control at the border. I had no choice because my visa was expiring, I am now in Volgograd and take the train to Moscow in a couple of Hours. But.... its a amazing trip and a real adventure |
sorry to hear about your bad news. next year another try. we are now in ashgabat, tomorrow towards Uzbekistan via the burning craters.

Sorry it ended in such a bad way, but you had a wonderful experience anyway. Have a good trip back home, mate! |
The trip was not finished, I just continue travelling. Last week I travelled by train to Aktobe en then to Volgograd, amazing to see the monument of the battle of Stalingrad. Today I took the train to Moscow en now I try to get a ticket to Amsterdam by plane for Sunday.
I experienced now the living by Kazach families and that because the bike was broken, one day bij an English Teacher and the other day by the family of a Policeman. I give the Teacher permission to sell the parts of the K100, so there are parts available in Kazachstan. Think about electronic and ignitionparts and the ABS I system, the cardan, cilinderhead and frontwheel are damaged. If someone search parts in Kazachstan write an email to me and I give the details. |
