BAM after Tynda further East

Hello everyone,

heading East from Germany now into Russia, Mongolia and further East.

Looking for some info about the BAM East from Tynda around Seja-Reservoir.
Don't know yet, if I want to go to Magadan or follow the BAM east and then to the Amur river mouth.

Anyone has some info about that route? From satellite images it looks like some bridges are out and the route around the reservoir is maybe not really there.

Cheers
Martin

I know only this bike report of two Germans (summer 2011):
Ein Sibirischer Sommer

Hi,

thanks you for the info. That route looks quite challenging. Maybe to much for me.

Google BAMriders and Sibersky Extreme

Plenty of information there.

These guys used to be on the hubb a lot, but as with most people who were here, they've wandered off to pastures new.

Hi,

thanks for the infos.

Sushi: yes the Z is going East. Should have started some time ago, but something came in between. Hope tomorrow I will head out. Looks like I have to rush the first bit.

Chris: Walter did email me some tracks for Mongolia yesterday. Hoped that he will read this thread. Maybe I send him another email.

In the end it looks like the eastern BAM is a bit of a challenge. Well maybe I find some company on the way.

Cheers
Martin

Eastern BAM

Hello Martin,
as far as i know is the eastern BAM the most challenging track you can in far east russia. Maybe the same Level than the old summer road.
At least i would suppose you look for Company, at least two ore three Drivers.
As a single Person i think you will get stuck. Take a look at thr ride reports from Colebatch or seach for BAMriders, the did in 2014 the eastern BAM.

Good luck and an a nice trip:thumbup1:

Hi Mate

The BAM is do-able as far east as Tynda. Beyond Tynda its close to impossible. The BAM Riders are basically the only people that have done it without relying on the train for long sections. Its possible (barely) but its a month long expedition to do the Eastern BAM. Stick to the western section (prior to Tynda)
