BMW Service / shipping in the Stans?
Having a bit of a failure on this one. I was working out how to get spare parts to me, and followed the advice given here (http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...-ship-to-71290) and was in the process of shipping everything to Ulan Bataar.
Found out today that everything has been shipped Standard instead of Express, and so it will take another 10-15 days to arrive. My visas (for here or the next 4 countries) wont last that long, and so I have to leave without the parts. Now, I need to reship/or ship a new set of parts somewhere else, and i'm back working out where's least bad in the Stans? Ideally I'd get a BMW service somewhere there too, but Almaty, Kaz and Baku, Azerbaijan aren't particularly responsive. Any ideas? Thanks |
From my recent experience there I am sure there is no BMW or any other bike service in Azerbaijan. Georgia seemed a lot more relaxed as far as customs was concerned so might be a better place to have parts shipped to but again there are very few bikes there and I saw no mechanics at all. Turkey is the next place where there are good, professional looking bike shops if you are going south of the Black sea.

probably Kyrgyzstan. There are a number of HUBB members living in KG, maybe they could suggest a shipping address.
