Crossing Mongolia to Russia at Tashanta heavy vehicle
 

Has anyone crossed from Mongolia to Russia at Tashanta with a camper vehicle over five tons? I was turned away at the border from Ukraine at a small crossing and sent to a larger crossing near Bryansk allegedly because of this.

I have seen lots of big campers there.

Also big trailers crossing the border.

I crossed from Mongolia to Russia at this border last week in at Toyota Landcruiser there were lots of large trucks crossing at the same time!
Russian side is very organised but Mongolian has long waits as not very organised! Suggest you allow time and try to be there early! Also it's not open Sunday's so suggest you check opening Times.
We stayed at a Mongolian Guest House right on boarder called Blue Wolf ! The owner was great host and put on a great meal!
