DBS Ferry?

Is it just poor Korean customer service or am I doing something wrong? I have sent 3 emails over the last 2 weeks to dbsferry attttt dbsferry.com to get a reservation and they have not replied?
Anybody else having the same problem?

I will send you the e-mail of an English-speaking Russian lady who works for the Korean ferry DBS… in Japan (how's that for international?!).
Maybe she can help you.
I don't have permission to put her address on a public forum, so I will send it directly. Maybe you can get her to fix the issue about not answering the corporate e-mail.
If that fails, pick up the telephone (an increasingly unpopular ancient voice communications device still available in some places). :innocent:

Sorted him out via EM

Hey Fly Red ,,
Stena and DBS ,, do not take reservation ,, can only book online, after having signed on as a member of the site,,, doubt they will answer all the EMs. Before, I called and made the reservation.
April ,,,, boats are 50% capacity ,, no worries there,,, take the Zarubino ,,, look at their schedule ,, Apr 13 is Sunday ,, Stena leaves on Tuesday to Zarubino ,, after both boats to Vladivostok ,, Thur and Sun ,,, you are stuck there for three days.
Best is to write to Wendy have her set up a PayPal ,, pay her in advance for the ferry or book ,, bike insurance,, her fees etc ,, so when you arrive ,, BAM , on the way.
Go read my Korea thread at the HUBB, under N.Asia ,, and if more questions... let me know.
God luck!

DO NOT GO TO VLADIVOSTOK folks ,, you are stuck there for three days ,,, hotel ,,food ,, taxi,,,due to sheer cargo volume... huge charges,, including Yuri's fees ,,, ca USD 400. Zarubino ,,,, USD 200 or so for clearance,, stevedoring , Russian insurance. At Zarubino,,,Two - three hours to clear the customs,, you land at 11 AM ,, you are on your way to Vladivostok around 3PM ,, be in Vladivostok by 7PM latest,, Sun is up till midnight. At Zarubino ,, you simply declare your bike,,just like any other European borders. All those coming thru ICN,, Please get hold of Wendy and use her for customs. Save a lot of head ache.
Road Zaru to Vlad might be bit rougher.

I finally got a reply from DBS today from my first email. I am waiting to hear from Wendy about the Sokchi boat. The ferry on the 20th to Zarubino is full.

Ah ,, forgot ,, Effective Jan 1, 2014 , Korea and Russia abolished visa requirement ,, increased traffic,,, also recent Sochi Olympics ,, we are having a honeymoon,,, due to first time ever Men's skating gold medals (1,500 and 3,000 meter gold and a bronze in 500 meter) for Russia ,, all given to them by Victor Ahn, single hand,, a Korean skater, who immigrated to Russia just before the Sochi.
So far Korea very quiet about Crimea,, even though Ban Ki Moon,UN secretary from Korea is vocal about it. We are working on a railroad deal with N.Korea, Japan and Russia. It will cut down shipping time to Europe by 1/2 ,,, all those export containers via rail to Europe..Russian natural gas to Korea and Japan by land.
Meanwhile, Japan…(Edit by moderator).

Get hold of Wendy early folks ,,

Please express your political misconceptions someplace other than the HUBB (edit by moderator)."

This is HUBB ,, we discuss ,, motorcycle,, weather ,, wars,,politics,, economy ,, money ,, sleeping places,, local tensions,,

Edit by moderator: I've eliminated most of this post, as well as gently trimming a few others. Joe, you're completely entitled to your opinions about any and all subjects. However, this is the Northern Asia regional forum, and posts here should address issues directly related to overland travel. Comparisons of one country or another to Nazi Germany do not serve this purpose, no matter how stated or attributed.

We greatly appreciate your many helpful posts about motorcycle travel in Korea and elsewhere. Thanks for staying on topic in the future.

Thanks SeoulJoe. You are a valuable asset here

The mod has the censor button. Not much you can do about that. I am headed right into the middle of the Russia-Ukraine mess. I hope it doesn't get too messy and bullets are not flying around when I go by.
