Driving Licence - Borders - Mongolia - Russia - Kazak - Khirgiz
 

Hello,
We are two french national on a Royal Enfield in Ulanbataar, heading to Bishkek on sunday, through Russia & Kazaksthan. We just had a big incident in the city yesterday, losing some personal items, and mainly our International Driving Licence.
So my question is : do you think we won't have problem at the different borders without it, showing instead our National Driving Licence (in French) ? Of course we have copy of the international one to show them too.

Should be no problem, nobody wanted to see the international one, we always had to show the original one

salut, l'an dernier personne n'a voulu de mon permis international, ils voulaient juste le national .....pour info j'ai fait Lyon Ulanbaatar Lyon via l'asie centrale .

In my entire trip from Spain to Mongolia I was asked just once to show my International license and was from a cop stopping people in the middle of the road while going form the Gobi desert to UB, never on a border crossing.

I am now in Kyrgyzstan after coming through Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan; never had to show any licence at a border crossing

Domestic one was fine when pulled over by traffic police
