failure to register in Kazakhstan
 
Hi, I failed to register within 5 days of entering Kazakhstan because I,m a twat. It cost me $100 and a day at the OVIR in Almaty. Read the small print people.

We never registered our visa in Kazak and didn't bother. We thought the fine (if any) at the border would be less than the US$ 100 of the OVIR. No one checked or bothered to ask us anything when we left Kazak...:innocent:

Did the guys at the border(when you were exiting) direct you to the OVIR or did you go there directly?

I never registered and when I left Semey...no issues.

I went there before I hit the border. Looks like I got suckered again. That makes a change.

i went to the immigration police in taldy kurgan on my 5th day, and got an extra 10 days, free
