Gas bottles in Russia Mongolia

Just trying to decide what type of fuel stove to run on my trip through Russia and Mongolia in my Landrover next year.

Ideally I would use a diesel Webast/Wallas but that puts quite a dent in the budget.

A gas stove is cheap and easy to use and I can easily carry a gas bottle. How easy is it to find refills or adaptors/regulators between Moscow and Vlad.

I will cook on a fire where possible but that is not always so easy.

I will greatfully recieve any suggestions.

Thanks all

Callum

Propane [Пропан] gas is available in most towns across Russia, usually just outside (for safety) and often near petrol filling stations. Even on the МКАД (Moscow's M25 type ring road!)
It is widely used, via refillable bottles and cylinders, for domestic cooking and hot water purposes.

I think connections are compatable with other countries fitments but have no first hand knowledge.
I will try to find out but this might take me a week or two.

In Mongolia, you'll be able to use this type of gas bottles though can only refill them in major towns.http://http://unigas.mn/index1.php?tid=30&rid=6
