Georgia : vehicle storage
Hi all,
We're looking at leaving our car in Georgia for the winter, flying back home and resuming our trip next spring. Does anybody know of a place where this would be possible (and safe) ? We'll be there next month. Thanks, Laurent |
Car storage in Georgia
Hi,
I have the same questions. Did you find any infos ? Cheers. Eric |
If you want to fly out of Kutaisi, there is a little Guest House nearby called Little Georgia Guest House. It is a self sufficiant farm and Aslan and his old mum are very helpful. We left our car now two times on their place and been home for a couple of months. Coordinates you find on iOverlander.

Hi Eric,
as far as I am aware the TIP is valid for 3 month. When you talk about several month did you leave the country after the break or continued in Georgia? regards Bernd |

I entered Georgia 2 times, last being 2016, but I don't remember how things worked with the vehicle: do they give you some TIP papers at the border or not? thanks! |
It looks like a lot of people are interested in this topic but nobody knows the answers...up up up!

Same plan, heading to Georgia from Iran, leaving the motorcycle somewhere for winter season. I have as posible place to store vehicles Green House Hostel at Tbilisi. Two close friends told me that they saw vehicles stored there.
About the TIP, I have not 100% reliable info. I remember that 4 years ago they told me that I didn't need visa for 1 year, and can't remember about the TIP. I will update info as soon as I arrive to Tbilisi. Kind regards. |
Sorry for long time no response.
Green House Hostel is a posible place to leave motorcycle inside the small yard. There is place for 7-8 motorcycles, they are not interested in cars. I had some mechanical problems last day off the journey, and spent all the time before fly out of the country fixing some of them, so I couldn't find time to ask directly to the authorities about the TIP. People I asked told me that travellers that went out even longer than 1 year didn't report paperwork problems. It's no official info. I had to make vehicle insurance entering Georgia, I was advised by officers about the new rule and I did it just after exiting of the border (Aktas). Regards. |
