You think we need to long on a bike to travel?

No, because I also have my meal with me, also water.

I am pretty sure, if you want to go forward on a bike and take your time, than a bike makes more milage a day.

Dont understand me wrong, it seems like you do it anyway, but i really think in this time period its not really doable, not with 2 weeks in Mongolia.

And there are a lot of roads where a bike can go faster than a car.

And the safe parkings in siberia you cannot find every 20km

And there also hotels are easy to find, they are just beside the safe parking beer

I see. 2 weeks in Mongolia, given the short time, are perhaps too many.

How many days would you stay there, considering that the total duration of the trip is 35-40 days, and that I want to stop for half day in 3 Russian cities?
Is 8 days in Mongolia a reasonable plan?

Are 8 days there compatible with my idea of staying 2 full days in UB and visiting Terelj Park + a couple of days in the Gobi near Dalanzadgad?

It is really hard to say, it depends on how fast you really go to UB, It would make the decision once you are there, then you know how fast you really can go.

And count some sparetime for repairs.

Hi. Yesterday I finally received the double-entry Russian visa.
I think it has been a good idea to re-apply for the correct visa before leaving. This means that I will be able to visit Mongolia and come back without having to apply for a Russian transit visa in UB (which would have been a bit "risky", given that I am short in time).
Cheers

Hi, finally I drove from Italy to the Mongolian border in less than 11 days.
Crossing Siberia was a hard but great experience.
Now I am in UB and have a problem with my vehicle, which has been involved in a accident in Darkhan. I will create a separate thread for this.
