Good news! Armenia Visa-free...
Travel gets ( a little bit) easier ( and cheaper) in Central Asia. After Kyrgyzstan introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of 44 countries up to 60 days, Armenia follows.
Unfortunately only EU :-( Pursuant to the Governmental Decree of the Republic of Armenia No. 1255-N dated October 4, 2012, the citizens of the EU member-states and the Schengen Acquis states shall be exempted from the visa requirement for travel to and stay in the Republic of Armenia beginning from January 10, 2013. As of the specified date the citizens of the above mentioned countries shall be entitled to stay in Armenia without a visa within a period of up to 180 days per year. |
That is good news.
Technically, do you still need a 'visa' in your passport to enter? Could you get this at the border or would you need to visit an embassy? I'm just thinking of the logistics of the border crossing. So now that its free to enter what does it cost to get your bike or 4x4 in? also insurance costs? any info appreciated :) G |
We entered Armenia last August I think, got a visa on arrival at the land border from Georgia, very cheap. Not much else to it, they just check our registration docs, no compulsory insurance.

It was already an easy visa on arrival. But no visa, even better. Happy travels, Esteban |
