info: Russian customs problems and Stan
Hello everyone,
I am looking for information about: in 2013 I did this trip: Europa,Bielorussia,Russia,Kazakhistan,Kygyzstan,Ta jikistan,Uzbekistan,Turkmenistan,Kazakhistan,Russi a. The problem came to the first entry in Kazakhstan, the police wanted the paper customs registration of the motorcycle, which I had lost or not I had been delivered in Belarus, after some discussion and phone calls, the Kazakh police made me enter the country without problems, the journey continued well until TJ, UZ, TK, KZ and RUS, are entered in Russia and in Astrakhan, broke the motorcycle. Useless attempts to repair, the visa expires on the same day (it was not possible to have more days of visa) I got on the plane and I came back home, hoping to get me to send the motorcycle at home. (I had agreements with Yamaha sevice). Russian airport no problem, I was made to embark without having realized that I was previously entered on a motorcycle, then all is well. From Italy, it was impossible to send off the bike, too expensive, € 6000 with doubt, it was seized in customs. The bike had over 100000km and I had broken bearings bench who have broken the cylinder and piston, So I decided to leave it in the workshop of the Yamaha Service in agreement with the owner to the workshop. (Is on display in the living room). In Italy I have all the papers, radiation for export abroad in Russian territory, with all the necessary documents and regular for the law. After a few months, I receive letters from the customs of Belarus where they say that my motorcycle is always in Belarusian territory (when this is not true), the motorcycle in Russia, and who are in the criminal trial. Needless to make phone calls Italian Embassy in Minsk that Belarus embassy in Rome, everyone pretends not to hear. Over time, last letter arrives from Minsk, saying that they are condemned by the law. Here in this short is my story. I wanted you some tips and advice. 1) You probably will not be able to go in Belarus? 2) Having problems with Belarus, I can have problems in Russia? Customs? 3) The same is also true for Kazakhstan, since the problem is born from them? 4) In short, I can continue to travel in those areas, as I always have, without any problem? Thank you all, Fabio. |
Hi Fabio
Sorry to hear about your problems. I have driven my car in and out of Russia at least ten times over the last eight years, but I have always exited with my car. A few years ago I received a letter from Russian customs saying that my car was still in Russia, which it was not. It must have been a mistake on their system. I was away at the time and I completely forgot about this letter (until I read your post just now!) Anyhow, last year I entered Russia with my car. It was on their computer system several times, but nobody said anything and I entered and left Russia with no problems at all. So in short, I think you are fine in Russia and Kazakhstan... but maybe you should avoid Belarus, or certainly notify your embassy there if you enter the country. Maybe you could try to send them some 'official' evidence that the motorcycle is not in Belarus... EO |

In Belarus will not go again. At the exit of Turkmenistan to enter Kazakhstan, not made me problems, equal to the output from Kazakhstan to enter Russia. So for Kazakhstan should be ok. I tried to convey to them, documents that the motorcycle is not in Belarus, but also I want to present to the criminal trial. I hope that I will have no problems in Russia ....... |
