Irkuck - How to Find a Good Mechanic?
 

Hi,

My friends are traveling form Poland to Anadyr. Now They are in Mongolia and one of them has problems with carburetor in his KTM LC4 Adv.

Maybe any of You can recommend a good mechanic in Irkuck to remove and clean (repair) the carburetor?

If he's in UB at the moment, he can get in touch with Renee at Oasis Guesthouse who can recommend a good local mechanic that works on KTM.
The mechanic for Extra Tours is pretty damn good, but I don't know if he does private work on the side...he has KTM experience though.

Is it the carb or the fuel pump?

with a full tank of petrol run a fuel hose from the tank to the carb bypassing the pump. If it runs OK the problem could be the pump, check the vacum hose to the pump. The original KTM hose can kink internaly because of the tight turn. You can run the bike without the pump for about 3/4 of the fuel tank.
