Leaving Georgia without the bike - any customs trouble??
Hello Folks,
next week I will fly out of Georgia and leave the bike here before I return one week later. Does anybody has experience in this? Do I have to expect some trouble at the customs? Maybe a special declaration or sth. special? Thanks for the help! Alex |
If you are flying out via Tbilisi airport, I see no reason why you have to declare anything / fill out any forms. You are not exporting the bike when you leave nor importing it when you return and there are no customs forms required for a personal exit / entrance in Georgia. I know of bikes which remain here over winter and there is no paperwork done.

I left my bike in Ukraine, Georgia, Tajikistan & Kyrgyzstan with no issues flying out and then flying back. Georgia i left it for 18 days no worries at all. |
Thank you very much for the information and taking away my concerns... :scooter:
I will just fly out for a week and then return. I already have the flight ticket for return. Thanks a lot! Alex |

Will visit Armenia the next days (by bike) and then fly out of Tbilisi at the end of the week! Ciao Alex |
No problems!
Hello Folks!
Just want to update and agree to all the comments above. Left GEO by plane without any problem and reentered a few days later again and everything worked out fine!!! All the best to everyone!! :mchappy: Alex |
It's very useful to have this assurance. Currently in Turkey waiting for the winter to stop, planning to visit family but looks like will have to wait till we're in Georgia around Feb as it looks like from Georgia there's no fuss at all. Thanks

Confirmed, no problems in Kutaisi airport with bike left in Georgia:)
... although airport stuff may be difficult when trying to bring chain and sprockets back on a plain. :oops2: |
