Mongolia: Customs to park motorbike
 

Hello.

I plan to park my motorbike in Mongolia after my holiday and pick it up one year later. Is special customs needed for this or is the temporary import you get at entry into Mongolia sufficient?

As far as I know ( and I met a lot of people there who did that ) you need to clear that with customs.
But you need someone local who ca help you.
Running around by yourself to get that sorted may be a bit of an lifetime job.

2017 a german who lives there helped to find a place and clear customs for some people.

I already contacted Oasis to park my bike there, I will also check with them to help with customs. I hope costs for the customs will be affordable (the costs for permanent import are dependent on the age of the vehicle and at least for old cars pretty expensive (6k)

Yes, something that you can thank to the guys from the mongol rallye.

They ****ed things like this up.
Dumped to many old cars there.....
