motoreiter's Moscow
Before the riding season, I'd thought I'd post a google map link showing my part of Moscow, which includes lots of hostels, bars, restaurants, live music, shops, etc.
I frequently hear people on the HUBB complain that Moscow is a big, grey, boring city, and all I can say is that you're going to the wrong places--Moscow is certainly big enough, but if you stay around Kitai-gorod and are looking for a central location and lots to do, I can pretty much guarantee that you won't be disappointed--this area is incredibly vibrant and fun. Just to clarify, I don't have any commercial interests in any of these places and am posting this map purely as a public service: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/ed...o.kLXfmpDoWtmQ Let me know if the link doesn't work... |
I'm afraid my Cyrillic literacy skills are not yet up to reading maps, but I'm still learning.
Does the Night Train saloon bar appear on your map? It's run by a friend of ours and I believe he has now added a biker hotel next door. The same friend also took us to the Night Wolves' Bike Centre. I've no idea whereabouts it was, as we travelled there by taxi and were far too concerned with hanging on to our seats to look where we were going. The Night Wolves are often billed at Russia's Hells Angels, but the Bike Centre is a great place - completely built from scrap metal and looks like a set from Mad Max. It does good burgers too. It's fine to arrive by car or motorcycle (though beware of Russia's zero-tolerance drink drive limit), but scooters are turned away! |
Nope, Night Train and Sexton (the Night Wolves place) aren't on the map, they are too far away. My map is focused on the center, everything within walking distance of Kitai Gorod.
Sexton is an interesting enough place, but I don't drink and ride at all, and I'm not interested in going to to sip colas, so I've only been once. |
The link did not work for me. Even when I manually cut and past the address in Google maps it reverts back to a Google map without any of the data you want to show. Windows 7 / IE11

OK, sorry, I screwed it up... I've re-posted what I hope is a correct link in my post above, please try again.
Anybody know if I can put a google map directly in my post? |
It kind of works now, a bit hard to say from an Android phone, but it did take me to a web version of your custom map.
Embedding a custom map here is unlikely I would estimate. |
