Onward to China
 

We left UK on March 24, have travelled 6K miles across Germany, Poland, Belarus, Russia, have arrived here in Mongolia, in Khovd city, now waiting for snow to go before we head east towards Ulaan Bataar. We ride two F650gs's, one normal, one Dakar version, we have visas for China, and hope to be able to return via China, to Kyrgyzstan and home . Does anyone have information on the ability to carry this out?

Of course, it is possible to go from UB via Zamyn Uud international border station to Erenhot (China). However, you are not allowed to enter together with your vehicle as long as you have not booked the desired trip with a Chinese agency. They will provide you with all necessary permits, Chinese driver licence and plates and - a guide, who will stay with you until leaving China. This guide, together with all paperwork will attend you at a fixed date at the border. You may leave the Erenhot border station as soon as all formalities have been done, not earlier.
