Pamir highway from 12h August
Hi guys, me and my girlfriend will ride the Pamir highway from Bishkek to Dushanbe, then Samarkand, Bukhara, back to Samarkand, Fergana and back to Bishkek. 20 days.
Anyone over there in this period? We would like to sleep by tent when possible, is it safe? Summer motorcycle clothing is appropriate or too cold in August? (I saw high temperatures on the meteo app) Any safety problem? We are open for any kind of tips, recommendations, or even if someone would like to join us and ride together! Lik to mymaps, our approximately itinerary. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?m...-3&usp=sharing Greetings! Its insanely hot in Uzbekistan right now. Over 40C nearly every day. Other than the heat, you shouldn't have any serious issues.

Its hot in the flat lands and cold in the height :-)
But you need definitely good cloth here. The terrain and condition is quite dynamic in the mountains, bones and frames are gettn' broken fast... At these times in the year your chosen route is quite frequent and you are not alone. Safety there is no issue as far as I am updated from all the riders at my shop. Have a save trip, Dave |
In the Pamir on the Ak Baital you can get snow or 12°C .
You never Know. We had luck last year, we got 7°C and no snow. |

We are not afraid of cold! We have a good equipment. We are afraid of warm temperatures! [emoji1787] our doubt is whether to wear winter trousers, or summer motorcycle trousers, completely perforated. to be combined with a ski jersey in case of low temperatures. this would allow us to stay a little bit fresher on the plains... Hope to find good conditions on the ak baital [emoji1696] Dave, I hope to meet you, I will try to pass to your shop. Inviato dal mio MI 8 utilizzando Tapatalk |
I also read about Bartang valley and Shakhdara valley, as alternative of the more famous wakhan valley.
Would like to do each one, but I think our time isn't enough. What do you think about? Ps: what about the northern route to Dushanbe? Someone write is more difficult... I have a good off road experience, do you think is it too dangerous to do in couple? Thanks again guys Inviato dal mio MI 8 utilizzando Tapatalk |
