Russia: most northern point by road?

Where is the most northern point in Russia, that can be reached on (paved) roads?
Is it on the penisula north of Murmansk (69.949977, 31.946107)?
https://www.google.de/maps/place/69%C2%B056'59.9%22N+31%C2%B056'46.0%22E/@68.5546925,61.5408356,5.01z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x0?hl=de
Has anybody been to the place or area specified by those coordinates and can tell me about the road conditions on the last 100 km?

Cheers

Panny

PS: I´m aware, that this point is in Europe, but the specification of the subforum suggest, that all RUS issues belong here, right?

Hej Panny,

I think the area is called Rybachiy Peninsula.

Check out a ride report here:

The warm north 2013 ( Karelia & Kola peninsula ) | Adventure Rider

My friend David had been in the Murmansk area this summer.
Maybe he can help with contacts of locals in the area.
There are still plenty of closed military areas around.
Look for Zimi on the HUBB or Zimi on the loose on FB.

If you mean strictly by paved road, the it would be the border to Norway at Kirkenes.

The point you have indicated is not a paved road. It's also a nature reserve and it may be closed to foreigners.

If you include dirt roads, it would be somewhere on the Barents Sea, but much of the coastline is inaccessible.

Hi Uwe,

thanks for the link. That ride report was really helpfull in regards of road conditions and about the question "is it allowed to go up there".

Cheers

OK, here is a report of the Gentleman Adventurer's recent drive to the most northerly point of Russia reachable by 'road', that is, a winter ice road to the far north of Yakutia:

Hey Panny,

are you planning to go there in 2016? I'm considering the same area for Summer 2016.

Hi Panny,

I've been on the Ribachy peninsula last summer. We camped one night there. It's a fantastic off road place, but you need good tires and an off road capable motorcycle. We had rain and cold weather. You need a long range fuel as well because there are no petrol station between Nikel and Murmansk. We met cool russian guys with 4x4 and they carried a 25 liter canister for us. With my 640 Adv I might have had enough, but my friend with his 990 Adv, never...

I think it is part from a restricted area, we removed our plates, like do all russian bikers... didn't have problem.

You can check for pictures on my facebook/zimiontheloose

you need to scroll until last summer....
let me know if I can help you more.
