South Korea - share your experience!
 

Hi there!

I've been looking for some information about travelling through South Korea on motorbike but could not find many in this section of the forum.
Anybody willing to share???

I may go there from mid May to mid June this year. I'm in Japan right now.

Last year on my way to Japan I was driving through South Korea and I spent 10 days driving from the port in Donghae I arrived from Vladivostok to the border of North Korea up to the coast and then all the way down to the South to Makpo where I took the car ferry to the island of Jeju I spent three days rest.
******** From Makpo back to Busan port to board the car ferry in Fukuoka, Japan
Road are exelent, people frendly .... good food ... beautiful mountains and valleys.
Beautiful memories ... I would definitely come again.

Hi Marta,
I am jut starting to plan a trip to Korea in early October2015. Initially would be:
Tokyo-Tottori (Sakaiminato)-Donghae-Seoul-Busan-Fukuoka-Shikoku-Tokyo
Final route will depend on available days off I an manage.
I have lived twice in the past in Korea (owned a CBR954RR there) and it is a great country with great character and food. Said that though traffic around cities is difficult and "at least at that time" bikes were not allowed on highways.
Paperwork will start soon since I have a new bike (Japan plate) now and last time I exit Japan (Sakhalin) was on a previous ride. All in all process was smooth but took me couple months to get it all done (no priority since had plenty of time and no rush at all dedicating minimum time to it).
