Tajik Visa Application
Just a heads up, currently applying for my Tajik Visa and they are requesting a Letter of Invitation and forwarding you to a list of Tour Operators.
|
It would help to add your nationality.
The rules aren't necessarily the same for all nationalities applying for a VISA. |

At the time from at least end of july, this did not happen anymore. i met a few riders on the road who have done the border at Kyzil Art to Kyrgistan without any problems or permits needed

26mi (or km?) between the border posts, I had lost my document pack including passport there back in 2019.. good times! |
USA passport.
I got evisa with GBAO summer 2023 $70 with scan of passport, airline ticket and two hotel bookings. Did evisa Feb 2024 and they requested invite letter. I was contacting tour company for invite letter and they closed/ rejected my application. I paid a 2nd time with passport, hotel bookings, airline ticket and invite letter. Rejected 2nd time with "forged letter attached" as only info. Anyone from USA having luck with evisa? |

Will be very interested to see what you learn...he was told by Consulate in Washington that this was the case. We travel in 5 weeks. |
Tajikistan has a 2-tier visa system. Some countries (eg US) do not need a visa and can just rock up for 30 days. Others (eg UK) do need to get a visa, but this allows 60 days.
https://www.consular.tj/visa-system-...countries.aspx I just got my Tajik e-visa (with GBAO permit) as a UK citizen and it was a bit of a to-and-fro. They came back after my initial application and asked for a detailed itinerary and proof of hotel bookings. I booked a few 'free cancellation' hotels and sent it back. They then came back again and asked for a Letter of Invitation. After some scouting around I contacted Sarez Travel on Facebook and they were very helpful, mission accomplished. https://www.evisa.tj/index.evisa.html |
I was hoping for 60 day with GBAO permit but 30 day at border visa will work. Getting GBAO permit separately was easy enough.

I just got my e-visa online in about 1 week (Swiss passport). No LOI.
Now, does anybody know if there's an open border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the Ferghana (so excluding Kyzyl Art) ? Thanks. |
