Turkmenbashi Ferry
Hi All,
My boyfriend is currently stuck on the ferry in the port of Turkmenbashi. They left Baku almost 48 hours ago and just seem to be stationary in the port without being able to dock. I'm just playing the part of fretting girlfriend back home and wondered if this is normal?! Any advice (or reassurance!) would be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Helen |
This is normal.
There is another ferry ahead of him that's docked in the port...awaiting rail cars to be loaded. When that ferry is loaded and ready to make that trip back to Baku, your boyfriends ferry will dock. Sometimes this can take 3-4 days. Maybe more...maybe less. Depends on how many OTHER boats are ahead of him. HTH |
Thank you SO much, you've really put my worried mind at rest! You forget that countries like these don't tend to run with the urgency that western countries do!

No biggie...this is what it looks like waiting to dock in T-bashi...with the other boats waiting.

Looks pretty bleak! Heard from him last night and their off the ferry now, back on their bikes and riding through Turkmenistan, i think it's probably 3 days of his life he would gladly forget!
