Turkmenistan entry refusals
Hi,
I've found this info: Caravanistan View topic - Turkmenistan transit visa refusals Does anybody tried to get this transit visas these days? Where? RR. |
Turkmen transit visa refused
My friend put the papers for the transit visa in Teheran (one week ago) and he went to get the visa from Mashad, but he was denied, with no explanation.
He doesn't have an Azer visa and his situation is a little complicated because his Russian visa is only for 2 entries, and now he has to go via Russia and Kazakhstan to arrive in Uzbekistan and further. Does anyone know if he can get another Russian visa on the road? (maybe in Almaty) Cristian / Bob |
As far as I know it is only possible to get the visa for Russia in the country you live.
That is why everyone says to get a russian multy entry business visa in case something happens on the road. He might have saved a hundred bucks on the russian visa. And now? And it is also not possible to have 2 visas for russia at the same time in the passport.... |

But it is correct that you cannot have two Russian visas in your passport--you can apply for a new visa, in which case your current visa would be cancelled. I don't know if they have any policies about issuing multi-entry visas when you already have a valid and unused two entry visa. |
Thanks for infos about Russian visa.
If I understand well, I can ask in a Russian consulate to cancel my visa and to get a new one? Because if I'm denied in Teh (for my Turkm visa), I have to change the dates of my Russian visa to go back to Georgia, the Russia and Kaz. Please let me know if it is possible.... RR. |

I think your main problem is getting a Russian visa while you are out your own country. Try contacting visa agents back in your own country and arrange posting your passport to get the visa as this is what a few have did who have been in your situation. However i think one guy did post on here that he got a Russian visa on his travels but this is rare. Maybe take aday out of your trip phoning embassy's you plan to get this visa from on route so you know yourself as i would not bet on just showing up hoping you get it |

I never used my Kazak visa they just wrote over it to confirm its void and issues a new one, on my visa application letter i stated this and it was fine.
I also questioned this regarding my Russian visa and the visa agent said you can get another one but your first will be cancelled but it turned out i never needed a Russian visa as i just made it on time with my then current issued visa. But yes i am sure different embassy's will have different views and sometimes any bother to them out of the usual requests and they might not help. You should seek advice from Visa agents in the area you plan to apply from now with emails/calling as maybe you will have to go with plan B if plan A fails You mentioned going to Almaty so maybe try contacting Stan Tours there "For further Countries please send your enquiry to info@stantours.com, we have very competitive prices for Russia and Iran tourist invitations starting at USD 30...55!" http://www.stantours.com/mn_contact.html |
Russian Visas in Mongolia
Backpackers at the hostel here in UB Mongolia are getting 30 day visas for Russia however it is taking 10 working days to process. So if it's possible here perhaps it's also possible elsewhere?
|
roro is from France, and as far as I know he has t apply in his homecountry.
Where are the backbaggers from? USA???? And by the way, happy welcome in UB!! We could meet for a beer. How was your trip from Olgi after we met? |
I know a guy in Moscow who does great work with Russian visas, but I think most of his contacts are in the Baltics rather than Mongolia/Central Asia, so I'm not sure he will be of much use. If you'd like to contact him, PM me and I'll send you his contact info.

From all over.

Turkmenistan transit visa failures
Hello
Sorry , about about those Transit visa refusals. I was in Mashhad ( Iran )several days ago with a group at the Consulate there and a Belgian cyclist was refused a transit visa there. He was a the third Belgian in two weeks to be refused. I,d be planning a backup route if you are from Belgian for some reason. He was looking at flying from Tehran to Uzbekistan last heard of with his bicycle for 350 Euros one way. Everyone else in the group of 8 got their tranist visa,s. |
Turkmenistan visa refusals
meet an Irish backpacker here in Bishkek, and he was also refused the transit visa in Mashad a few weeks ago.

But, if your transit visa is refused, is it a solution to apply for a tourist visa with booking a tour?
RR. |
Vali's in Mashhad has some contacts at the Turkmen Embassy, he may well have some info regarding availability of visas.
He has a nice little guest house too, not super cheap but good beds and food. Just be careful if he offers you a free tour of the carpet making area, he is pretty good at trying to get you to buy one! Hi, regarding visa for Kazakh, a list of countries (including France and UK) do not require a visa for stays of under 15 days.
This has been rolled now and valid until 2017. It was discussed recently in the hubb and confirmed few weeks ago. Check with the Kazak embassy. See here for Britsih citizens, but it includes about 12 or 15 nationalities. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-ad...y-requirements But unfortunately registration may still be necessary! |

If I'll be denied in Ankara, I'm going to try to contact Russian Consulate there and explain my problem.... and cross my fingers. Any other advice about this problem:helpsmilie: |
OK, good luck with the consulate. A word of advice: when dealing with Russian bureaucrats, it never pays to get mad or frustrated or upset...just explain the enormous problems you'll face if if you can't change your visa, and very possibly they'll be moved from their inertia or even be willing to break a rule or two. That's one thing I really like about Russians--they are usually willing to help a brother out.

It's sure I'm not going to be upset against them: it's not their fault if I need to chage my dates! RR. |
Russian visa and Turkmenistan visa
I'm Polish citizen now in Osh (kirgistan). I applied this morning with no problem for russian tranzit visa (I applied 10 days but possible I will got 5 or 6). Passports with visa I will take in Thursday till 11 (70 EUR fast procedure)
I will ask my friend from Poland about Turkmen visa in Biskek becouse we will separate in few days (he will applied for Uzbek and Turkmen in Biskek). I will back to Poland through Kazachstan, he will drive to Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran. Regards |

I already have a Russian visa but in case of refusal for my Turkm. transit visa, I'll try to have a Russian transit visa to go to Kaz+Uzb fro Georgia (then return) RR. |
My nationality don't depend of geting visa. Russian have strict rules and there is no discus.
In my case I got only 1 way in Poland becouse my trip is over 30 days and it is impossible to back from my trip in 30 days. So it is obvious that I have to return to my home and it is only possible to drive by Russia. There is no problem to get the visa but the procedure can be different in Central Asia. (f.e in Almaty only normal proced for 7 days, in Osz normal 7 days for 50 EUR, faster 4 days 70 EUR). There is also few consulates in Kazakhstan on my way but it is easy to find good place when you do the internet application. So I think don't worry about your visa. I met Italian and French in consulate in Almaty and they picked visas. Regards |
Just a question:
Why did you not get a double entry or multy entry visa? Would this not be much easier instead of hoping that everything runs well? I am asking because in Kazachstan and Usbekistan they checked my passport for the visas and they would not let me in if I could not tell them which route I take and I have the Russian ( and in Uzbekhistan the Kazhak ) visa already in my passport. They also checked if I need to go back from mongolia through Kazhakstan or not, because I just had double entry and then I needed a triple entry. So I think you can not rely that you can cross into a country when you dont have a visa back. Or do they have to give you a transit visa without any question? |
Hi, I am the one who was with Bartosz. Just collected my Uzbek visa in Bishkek, it took me 15 minutes and 65 USD (with prearranged LOI) . Waiting for the code for Iran and I go for Turkmen visa. Will update accordingly. Anyone in Bishkek fancy a beer?
Janusz |
I asked for my Turkmen transit Visa, around one month ago in Ankara, and picked up in Tehran. No problem at all. You need entering and exiting countries visas when applying.
If you dont get a transit visa, you could get a tourist visa by hiring a trip through an official tour agency. The price will start around 100$ per day. |
Applied today in Bishkek. 7 working days leadtime. No way of applying here and collecting somewhere else.

Russian transit visa
Quote:
Back to theme I it is rather difficulty to get russian double transit visa with period longer then 30 days, My all trip was 37 days so that I took only 1 way. Procedure in Osh very pleasant, 4 days and I got 10 days (maximum). So even it is possible to visit Moscow for 7 days. |
It is very easy to get russian visas.
I applied for multy entry business visa now for the 2nd time. No problem. I Just went to an agency who did that for me. So it is easily possible for everyone else. You just need a visa agency which is able to do that for you !!! |
So, bad news. I have got refused the visa. No explanation given.
Rerouting through Caspian Sea and Azerbaijan. |
Don't forget that you can now enter Russia from Azerbaijan (I did it myself in May in a 4x4), which saves a lot of money on the ferry, and the hassle of buying tickets and waiting.
