Way from Irkutsk to Olchon via Mal. Goloustnoye
As we do not want to ride the P418 from Irkutsk to Olchon twice next summer the road via Goloustnoye and Buguldeyka could be a nice option riding northbound first. How are the conditions of that road in summertime?

Hi Ralf,
we did not go directly to Goloustnoye and Buguldeyka but drove till the branch off in Maloye Goloustnoye. There we continued south passing Goryachi Klyuch and Khudyakova. Its now 3 years ago but generally it is Siberian backcountry like. Most of the time reasonable to good gravel but also some pretty muddy stretches in a swamp area on the way to Maloye Goloustnoye. The local marshrutka is a 4x4 truck with passenger box and you also find deep tracks made by timber trucks. Regards Bernd |
