Hardtail Guzzi!
Crusty,
Er...... unfortunately I'm not kidding! In fact, I think the bike's back seat had something to do with me & my girlfriend splitting up shortly after the trip! I's a shame because the seat looks quite comfortable with that little backrest. I am therefore really, really pleased to see Indu's posting of a Corbin seat - this could be worth every penny, I'm going to look at getting one of these myself. N |

I think Baglux (I guess they have a website) are doing more seats nowadays along with all those tank bags they have produced for years - could be competitive on pricing. A cheap(er) option would be an airhawk "cushion" for the pillion. |
Thanks for the help guys, I'm getting a quote sent out for the Corbin, looks ace!
As for alternatives, all I can come up with is a K series Beemer. A million miles from the Cali in character but durable and affordable. Can I assume say, a K75 would meet my two up comfort needs? Yes, I have found a cheap one! |

Joke aside: I'm sure the K75 is a great bike. The inline K engines have earned their nickname "The Bricks" because they look like one and they last forever. Confession time: I had a K1200GT once, the old one. Had the soul equivalent of a vacuum cleaner, but solid engine. Shame about the clutch that kept getting oil onto it due to faulty oil seals. Didn't mind changing it for my spiritual brother, the Eagle from Mandello. |
Obi wan indu, words of wisdom speak you...!
Yeah, if I'm honest I'm only really impressed with the K for it's reputation. It doesn't speak to me like the Guzzi does so I doubt I'd be happy. I got a quote for the Corbin seat, the one pictured above is pricy, but affordable. Sadly it doesn't fit the EV!:( So I got another quote-nearly twice as much!:eek3: Then I remembered Airhawk seat pads. Pillion size can be had for just over a quarter of the cost of the Corbin, so we're back on for the Cali again.:biggrin3: I've been in touch with the seller and it was just worn out friction plates. Rebuild is under way and I'll hopefully get to see the bike soon. Thanks again for all your comments. |
