About 160KG (350lb) dry. They are basically an F650 (pre-leverfront) - same motor and running parts with different body. But because of the posh factor of BMW they tend to be more expensive than the Peg. Fine for long distance. Good reliable bikes. A few issues with the Rotax engine: voltage regulator and head gasket. Other than that I've done heaps of miles on 'em. Fuel range not the best - I get about 250kms max. And much less if I ride over about 110km/h. Check this site for more on the F650/Peg

New Pegaso Trail (2007) is 183 kg dry (from user manual), engine with FI should be the same Minarelli that is on Yamaha XT660R.

Yeah I should've said the Pegs I'm talking about are the ones up to about 2003/4. These are the most common ones. I presumed you were looking at a used bike, and the Peg3s were the most popular. They seemed to have lost popularity in recent years.

In spring there will be new Yamaha Tenere XT660Z 2008. Before buying new Pegaso I'd wait and check out it first, unless you have strong reason to buy Pegaso. It will probably be more expensive, though.

Current Pegaso
Lots of knowledgable people here
2006+ Pegaso Trail / Strada / Factory - ApriliaForum sponsored by AF1 Racing, inc. I've got a Strada, the tank is the thing that is making me look at a 2008 Tenere - there's about 150 miles in one if you go steady. Other than that, I've done 10 000 miles with no problems aside from the parts back up. |
hmm...
why not get a new XR650L, since youre planning to go to Africa...
just a suggestion.:cool4: Ride Safe :scooter: |
