Is there a need for (Pre 95) European trucks in the USA?
Hi folk's,
I would appreciate any help understanding if there is there a need for (Pre 95 Mercedes Benz trucks and Unimogs with low mileage) European trucks in the USA? With a background in international shipping and a passion for travelling overland, I am looking to diversify and open up new horizons. In the beginning this will mean us streamlining the process for the US buyers to source and purchase overland suitable trucks (Pre 95 Mercedes Benz trucks and Unimogs) from Europe and import them in to the USA by acting as a broker. Our role is to break down the barriers that one normally comes up against when working with international vendors (EI: Language, Cultures, Distance, Time, stress and most importantly Bureaucracy). Initially the services we are looking to supply will be exporting and importing base vehicles out of Europe in to the USA but, as most people are aware Europe has a large number of top rate Expedition truck body builders and we would also if required offer a liaison/project management service enabling the customer to have a single point of contact for there entire process/project no matter how big or small. If there are other services that you feel we should be looking to offer please let me know too. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to your feedback, Alwyn |

Hi Alwyn, you might also be interested in canada. Our regs are different than the US as we only require foreign vehicles to be 15 years old rather than 25. Cheers. Rarle

Absolutely!
After traveling North America in a family overland Sprinter, and meeting numerous EU travelers in their amazing MAN/ Fuso/ Mog vehicles, we started a search for such trucks. Unfortunately the challenge is always finding a reliable vehicle meeting the strict US standards for import. Having a broker across the pond would be invaluable.
I think there is a huge market for such rigs, especially LHD models capable of safely seating 4-5 ppl. Looking forward to your new endeavor, so please keep us updated on your next steps. Cheers, Brooks |
