Wireless remote
Has anyone tried the 'Aputure' wireless remote from 'Link Delight' selling on Ebay?
It is alot cheaper than branded versions and seems too good to be true! |
Following this thread with great interest.
There are two main line, one made by Jin Jia Cheng and has a lithium rechargeable battery in the reciever JJC W100 but not sure how reliable this really is and whether the battery will be reliable and replaceable... The other has two replaceable batteries and 16 channels . Having a wireless infra red trigger has been fun, albeit largely unsucessful thus far, but a 100m trigger has enormous potential. However I am a tad reluctant to leave my 5D and L lenses 100 meters away from me, thats a good head start! At £15-£20 I will be getting one not sure which yet but was interested in others input. Cheers G |
I was looking at the one with replaceable batteries and 16 channels.
You're right about the head start but would be careful where I use it!! I guess my main concern was whether it might cause any problems with my camera. As it plugs into the camera body I assume it has to interface with the electronics and was after some reassurance that it wouldn't mess up my camera software. Any thoughts on this? I have found some feedback on US based forums that was all very positive. If it works OK with US cameras will it be OK with UK cameras? Maybe I'm being over cautious but my camera is my pride and joy and took alot of saving up for! |
No worries
The connection that it uses on the EOS system does not interfere with the inner electrickery so you should be fine.
Takes a cr2 and a "23a 12v"(or LRV08) battery, so easy to get hold of. Dont know for a fact about the rest though. |
Thought you might like to know ....
Photographicsafaris,
Have finally had some very positive responses from UK based photographers/forums so will be ordering mine any day now. Assuming you haven't got one yet I'll let you know how I get on. If you have got one ..... how are you getting on?! |
I got some ebay gadget infinity triggers last year, they were an absolute bargain compared to Pocket Wizards but some users have had reliability issues with them, I guess you get what you pay for..
If you want information on remote triggers have a look in the strobist group on flickr, there's loads of information on there. |
