Mechanic / Bike Shop in Brazzaville. Also: tyres
Greetings!
As mentioned elsewhere I'm currently grounded in Brazzaville. There are 3 motorcycle mechanics in Brazzaville that I know of: Sporafric S04°16,353N015°17,139 Grasset Sporafric - Importateur et revendeur au Congo depuis 1946 They deal with pretty much everything mechanic from tools to lawnmovers. On top of that they also are a licensed Yamaha dealership. When I arrived there on my first day they confused my KTM for a Chinese King Town Moto. After I explained them that it's in fact Austrian and not that different from the WR450 they have in their showroom the response was "C'est tout le même." Well,**** you too. Probably still the best bet if you ride a Yamaha but they don't touch anything else. CFAO S04°16,049E015°17,592 Notre Rseau : CFAO Motors Congo - CFAO AUTOMOTIVE Toyota car dealership, so it might come in handy for our 4x4 friends. Also a licensed Suzuki dealership. The shop seems to be very well equipped. But same s tory here: they touch nothing but Suzuki. Congo Motors S04°15,802E015°17,805 Phone number +242 6 998 13 19 Not a bike mechanic per se, the main business is the sale and maintenance of BRP products. Mainly jetskis, outboarder engines and buggies with the odd Can-Am Spyder. But since there is a sizeable expat community in Brazzaville who like their enduros and are apparently very fond of KTMs they know a thing or two about motorcycles. There are also plans to import Sherco bikes to Congo, but I am unsure how far the planning is on that front. Nicolas, the owner, is very a very helpful chap and let me use his shop free of charge, organised the delivery of my spare parts through some expat who was coming back from France to Brazzaville so I didn't have to pay 300€ to DHL and was just a top guy all around. Did I mention he has also a good taste in music? Anyway: what's also interesting for those who want to go to Lubumbashi and have a longing for fresh knobbies or just want to change their tyres is this: http://i.imgur.com/IM9CJO2.jpg There's a stock of nice new cross and Rally tyres. Mostly of the 18" and 21" variant, but there was one 17" rear tyre too. I hope somebody finds this useful. Gruess Bünzli P.S.: Yes this has been submitted before, in the wrong sub-forum. |
