Mechanic in Chile: Cochrane or Coyhaique
 

Hi guys,

currently, I am staying with my BMW R 1150 GS (120.000km, 15 years) in Cochrane with a faulty bearing and seal in the rear wheel. MotoAventure Osorno with Santiago sent the spair parts. They will arrive tomorrow. Does anybody have a recommendation for a mechanic in Cochrane (preferiably) or Coyhaique (would require a transport over 300km)?

Hi Volker,
I had problems with my clutch and radiator just before Puerto Guadal in January and ended up putting it in the back of a truck and taking it to Coyhaique. I got help from Pestana Motos Las Lengas #735 but wouldn't necessarily recommend them, bit pricey and unable to get parts. However, if you have the parts, it might work out.There is another mechanic mentioned in these forums who might be better but he wasn't available at the time for me. I got lucky with the transport to Coyhaique though. Cheap and even stayed the night at the drivers house. I can't find his details but will keep looking for you. Hope you can find the help you need/want to Cochrane though.
