Charity Ride to Mongolia and back on a Honda C90
2 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
My name is Szabi and I will ride my C90 from Oxford, UK to Mongolia and back, leaving in a few days. It is going to be interesting, as the furthest I have ever ridden was from Southampton to Oxford.. this journey will be around 13,000 :oops2: The approximate route plan looks like this, however this might change: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...1&d=1375182903 And this would be my mighty beast: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...1&d=1375182999 As this is not the usual commuting route, I have decided that I will try to collect money for my chosen charity: The SERV OBN Blood Bikes (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers (Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire). These guys are delivering human blood and anything else what the NHS needs urgently on their motorbikes for free. You can read more about them if interested here: SERV OBN Blood Bikes I set up a Justgiving.com site, where my target is £1000. So far I have managed to raise £218. To be able to reach my target, please help me and the charity by donating. Here is the link to the website: Szabi Nagy is fundraising for SERV OBN Blood Bikes You can also donate by sending a text message to: 70070 For example: HOND90 £5 70070 You can change the amount to the followings: £1,£2,£3,£4,£5,£10 Any donation is welcome and appreciated and all the collected money goes to the charity. I also set up a facebook blog, where hopefully I will be able to upload photos and videos: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Honda-...93096907401338 I can not promise that I will be able to update this forum entry on the go, as I will only take my phone with me, but please follow my Facebook blog. Anyway, if you are interested, like my page so you will see the updates and first of all, please donate :) Thank you very much Regards, Szabi |
Boys and Girls,
It's all set now- just finished packing, the bike is completely overloaded. Not sure whether it will move at all :D haha Stupid me- I haven't done a test-packing, nor did I do a test riding when fully loaded as I just finished it not long ago. Will post the first pic tomorrow of the fully loaded bike. Unfortunately I will not be taking my off road tires as planned, because it is just a way too heavy already. I am pretty sure that I will regret this decision in Mongolia... Anyways, all the best and watch the space for updates. Oh, and please donate :) Remember, this will all go to the Honda Blood Bike guys :) Szabi Nagy is fundraising for SERV OBN Blood Bikes Cheers |
Dont be surprised when you meet 10 GB.. bikers on Honda 90.s somewhere in Russia at the visa versa destination with you..
All the best... |

Hi all,
Unfortunately, I did not bring my laptop with me due to it's weight, so now I can only use my phone and it seems it is a real pain to upload photos to the site, so for the photos, please see the facebook portal. The way to the ferry was nice and the bike copes with the weight very well.In FranceI wanted to camping in the wild, but every field, etc is private.I ended up asking people wether I could put my tent up in their garden.Eventually managed to find a place to sleep and during the night it was of course pouring rain... I am now using the motorway in Germany at 50mph...:-( that is sometimes really scary.Tomorrow I'm heading for Czech, then Poland. |
Ok, it seems I can post photos after all :-)
Young handsome chap would be myself :-) haha and the other photo was taken in France at the first camp |
I'm going to read this thread on every update! As for tyres maybe you could order some to a Honda garage just before you get to the border with Mongolia? Just a thought.

Hi all,
I have just managed to get to Wroclaw, Poland. It was a very difficult and ling day. I had like 5 punctures, I might have overcooked the engine as I was using the German motorway with "high" speed. But met really nice people who helped me and refused to accept any payment. The bike's performance dropped quite dramatically. Will try to take it to a garage and have a look at it. Now gonna get some sleep as I feel naked. Please check FB for photos. There isn't a lot as I just ride all day. Probably I need to take it more easy on the bike and myself from now on. |
Oh, regarding to the tyres,I think I'm going to try to get another Michelin M62 as they seem to be really good even on light off-road. I recommend them ;-)

So it seems that the bike only needed some relaxing, as today on the way to the garage it performed perfectly. I ordered 2 new inner tubes and 1 new tyre, so for now I will be staying in Wroclaw until I receive the parts.
Will be back on the road in a couple of days. I took the attached photos Germany. |
Good shit
Yo Dude,
Am impressed, keep up the good work. Would love to see more pics and notes of your adventures. |
