While heading out of Haikou (G324 National Highway) had quick pitstop at the Volcano Cluster Park (would personally call it a cluster f**k) for future Haikou visits but taken that one of the "must visit places in China" as its a typical tourist trap crowded with tourist groups by the bus load. Rolling down National Road G324 to Yalong Bay (Sanya) from Haikou, the road goes through the middle of the island and covered the trip previously (JL sidecar run in this thread).
Nothing major to report, seems a anti drug campaign going on as I have seen a few signs today. Funny coincident, while I loaded the bike up in Haikou, got a phone call about my mates and family boarding the plane up at HQ Airport Shanghai and thought to myself, hey ~ Top Gear UK style race, who is first at the Yalong Bay / Sanya hotel reception? The others won by approx. 10 minutes.... The mighty Jialing ADV Cruiser met the Big Golden Lion at Yalong Bay Sanya on 15:30hrs. Saturday 30/03 (my final destination for the Shanghai - Sanya Run to the Sun meeting mates and family). The Jialing JH600 motorbike performed very well and deserves a good rest for a few days, only problem was the fried battery in Jiangxi province. Took the Nanshan exit to cruise up the Western coast line (National Road G225) but skipped visiting Nanshan once again as its by far the most popular and crowded tourist attraction on the island today.

The Salt Field (Incun - Yinggehai at Hainan West Coast facing Vietnam) going on forever....
Located in the south-western seashore of Ledong County, the salt field is one of its largest kinds in Hainan and has long been a famous fishery production base. The beach here slopes gently and the sand on it is fine and white and soft to feel. Established in 1985, the salt field covers an area of 38 km2. As the ridges of Jianfengling block the way of north wind, cloud and rain, the salt field exposes to the scorching sun all year round and the seawater here is the saltiest in the world. Jialing gets a well deserved oil and filter change at the Sanya downtown authorised Jialing service centre (see post #5 in this thread). Oilfilter shows three little metal flecks, nothing to worrie about.

Sanya Bay has a heli tour operation now, 1600RMB for 10 min. for a single person (seats 4 incl. pilot), they have two helicopters stationed there. watched the black one taking off and had to laugh as the pilot put on his white gloves like the taxi drivers we have in the cities like Shanghai / Beijing....
side-note: I have the business card of the Sanya Bay heli tour operation in case anyone needs the contact details. ps: one of my Sanya contacts mention the other day rental Ferrari / Lamborghini supercars are available for 20000-25000 RMB per day (self-driven) in Sanya as well. Lingao is situated in the north-west of Hainan Island. It borders Chengmai County to the east and Danzhou to the south with the Qiongzhou Strait to the North.
Stopover at the famous Lingao monument out at the Lingao Cape, a large stone monument for the Hainan Island Campaign. Enjoyed cruising along the coastal concrete road from the Lingao monument to the Yangpu area.
The Yangpu Ancient Salt Field is an archeological heritage site in Yantian village, on the Yangpu Peninsula in Hainan, China. Salt Field area comprises more than 1,000 stones, cut flat on top, which are used to evaporate seawater to produce salt. The stones have a thin rim around the edge to contain the water. During high tide, the surface of the stones becomes filled with seawater. During low tide, this evaporates, leaving the salt, which is then collected. The area was established around 800 AD when a group of salt workers from Putian city in Fujian province moved to Yangpu. Qibao is a town in Minhang District, Shanghai. Its formation can be traced back to the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, to the Northern Song Dynasty. During my recent Shanghai - Nanjing ride the Desmo service light (24000k) showed and took the MTS for a full service to the Ducati Shanghai service.
The MTS fells like a new bike again with the full Desmo service (belts, shims, etc.) and some extra preventive maintenance and service completed, changed the gearing to 15/42 and really lovin' it.
