We paid £50 each for insurance in Macedonia, this is the norm - we also travelled through it in a few hours only so an expensive route.
Some Balkan countries were not available on a green card, I think Macedonia was one of them - well from our insurance companies anyway, that’s 2 different ones. Let us know what it’s like to winter in the south of Spain please. I can’t help thinking you’re going to regret travelling so fast . When you’re young it’s difficult to think about the future - you always think your life will be the same and you will have time on your hands and money in your pockets to go back to these places. You’re very definite about the type of traveller you are but may I suggest you make a concerted effort to change your style a little and slow down. I talk from experience because that’s how I travelled when I was a younger man and regret it. Good luck bier |
Hi Flipflop, thanks for the comment, always good to get people's thoughts, as long as they don't mind if I disagree with them...woth that in mind, I'll be going back that way when I head back to Turkey so it's not a worry that I might not get another chance to travel there.
I understand your point of view regarding traveling slow and for some people (probably most) that may be what they want to do, and that's fine. This isn't my first trip so I've learnt what I enjoy and what drags for me. Obviously I could be wrong and as you say, I may regret this way of traveling when older but likewise, I may not, but spending time now traveling in a way I don't want to because I may regret it later also doesn't seem like the best option. Not everyone will agree with or like the way I travel, nor will I with the way they do, but wouldn't it be boring if we were all the same. I'll put something up about hanging about in Spain, will also be in the French Alps for a few months before restarting the trip so I'll add that in too. |
Thanks for the reply.
As you were  :mchappy: |
I think that my next goal will be just such a big trip around the country. I believe this is an invaluable experience for any person, since nowhere you get the same emotions as on a trip, especially on a long one. So far, my goal is to buy a house, because after all, traveling is good, but you should always have somewhere to return. Especially now, when my wife and I are planning to have children in a few years, just this time we will need to arrange our home and travel. The only problem is that I have not yet decided on the service on which I will buy a house. Most of all, I am inclined to the house and lot option at a favorable price, especially since friends who have already used their services are highly recommended to me. In general, thank you very much for sharing your experience; you are well done
