Gibraltar!!
Gibraltar!!
Yesterday, I arrived at Gibraltar with the Shogun (Suzuki VanVane). I'm glad that I had a "little" baggage, because it was soooo windy. If the VanVan wouldn't be loaded I would certainly write to you from Morocco It was a special day for me because I crossed the halfway point of travel - 6 000km!! Now I can say that I'm "coming home".. I can't wait for next kilometers... probably a lot of adventures, fabulous sceneries are waiting for me... and lots of great people to meet. http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_6987.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7035.jpg GPS shouts: "you are off the track"! http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_6994.jpg aircraft ahead :eek3: http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7013.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7012.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7010.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7000.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_6998.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7011.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7016.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7022.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7025.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...r/sam_7032.jpg pls like my new adventure: www.facebook.com/RidingAcrossAmerica www.ridingacross.com |
:thumbup1:Some fantastic photo's well done. I have just joined today and yours was the first thread I came across, very impressed. My friend and I are doing Europe in July from Scotland and covering the story of the Great Escape from Stalug Luft III and we will be paying our respects to Auschwitz.

Seville
Fate again smiled to me :D Members of the Suzuki VanVan Moto Club took care of me in Seville. And everything happened quite by accident - the true magic of motorcycling! Do you remember guy in red t-shirt who I've met on the gas station? Paco wrote about me on the forum of his club... and boom!! "you've got mail!!" :w00t:
All the spanish cities are different... So far.. the most charming for me was Seville. Which despite many historic sites doesn't lose youthful vigor, thanks to its residents. The city is the capital of Andalusia, which is full of fabulous views, which will always remain in my memory. :punk: http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7037.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7039.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7041.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7044.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7048.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7049.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7046.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7057.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7056.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7061.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7062.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7064.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7074.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7077.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7078.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7079.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7082.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7088.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7091.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7106.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7108.jpg new friends!! http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7111.jpg VanVan buddies :P |

LadyC, I'm just curious about what time of year you travelled - presumably during the summer but in which months? Also, you carried camping gear (there is a mountain of gear on the bike!) but you were riding into hours of darkness which you don't recommend - why did that happen so often? Finally, what do you think of the GoClever GPS - the hardware (is it water resistant?) and the maps? Caio, |

I started my trip in first week of September. Whole trip last 48 days (I spent one week in Nice, France). Why I was riding after twilight...? You can try to plan everything but reality it's much more different. I was lucky that nothing happend to me :) I used my camping gear few times... mostly i slept in hostels and in "couchsurfers" homes. I get GoClever GPS as a present from my family and I love it! Easy to use, waterproof... of course it sometimes surprise me with proposition of route while option "avoid highways" :smiliex: but it was ture adventure and riding to the unknown. BTW My friend uploaded me maps of Europe (automaps). If you have more questions.. just ask! ?c? |

That is a great month to ride in Europe: the kids have gone back to their school desks, their parents have done much the same thing from their annual holidays and the roads have more room, once again. I would have gone for wild camping, on the side of the road if necessary, rather than continuing to ride when tired and into the darkness. |
Portugal
Portugal welcome me with the strong wind... I felt pain in my neck...
The magic of the ocean caused the desire to rest. I found a cozy camping where I stayed for two days... staring at the waves crashing on the cliffs. :biggrin3: http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7121.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7119.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7128.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7123.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7130.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7134.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7146.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7147.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7151.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7156.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7158.jpg http://ridingacross.com/wp-content/g...a/sam_7161.jpg pls like my new adventure: www.facebook.com/RidingAcrossAmerica www.ridingacross.com |
