Video - A Shortcut Over the Andes
Here’s a video of just one day out of about 700+ days I recently spent in South America. It’s my first HU post about my trip.
I knew it would be a very long day, yet still managed to get wonderfully distracted along the way. I started late, chatted with curious police investigator for an hour about travel and motos, got semi-lost, backtracked to find gas, got an oil change just because a friendly little moto shop needed the business, then had lunch with mechanic and his buddies, got semi-lost again, had 2nd lunch with oldtimer in old mining town, played with dogs, chatted with llamas, and marvelled at some of the most beautiful wilderness as I bumped along over the Andes in Peru. Please have a look. I’d love to hear your feedback. Thanks! Steve https://youtu.be/79Da7V8ZtU4 |

Hi Steve,
Nice little video there and it's why HU is here for everyone to share their experiences. Keep posting them. Just for the record, how long was it before you made it to somewhere to sleep stuck up at that level would of been quite a sleep experience ?? Al the best Mez |
MEZ,
The altitude is definitely tougher on me than the roads or weather. I was feeling too soggy and cold to camp, so it was another 4-5 hours in the dark and mud to get to a hostel. A lukewarm shower can be heaven. |
