A lap of the Med
Has anyone done a lap of the Med? European part shouln't present any problems but what about Syria, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Algeria and Morocco? Any real issues here?
Is Morocco still closed from Algeria or is it possible to get over the border? If not its a long way round ! Just an idea at the moment but would be grateful to hear from anyone who has done the trip or parts of it. Cheers and take a virtual drink of your favorite tipple on me :) |
Thing I was thinking of, so I am interested in hearing any experience. Thanks.

The border is closed. I suspect you are not getting any answers because people are weary of answering the same question repeatedly....but I could be wrong.
There are other issues, of course. Have you tried a search? Mark |
That was my plan
But, the borders between Algeria and Morocco are closed, so decided to take the ferry from Tunis to Italy.
Syria, Jordan and Egypt no problem, but you need a carnet. expensive. Lybia, on top of carnet you need a guide assuming you're doing the coast route. expensive. Israel is a no no if you are to go to Lybia (and come back out). Now that there is a ferry from Egypt (Alexandria) to Italy (venice), I will be using the money for Lybia and Tunis for that. So, the plan now is to dash through EU, spend a week in Turkey, few days Syria and Jordan, another week in Egypt, then Italy back to the UK. leaving 2nd october :scooter::scooter:. Happy to provide more info if needed. |
