Africa Climate Overview (Weather Info)
 

I'm doing some planning for a RTW trip and wanted to share some climate data that I gathered and know will be useful to others in their planning. :smartass:

This is a Google Docs Spreadsheet with climate info (avg rainfall and high temps) of key African cities on a proposed tour of Africa going anti-clockwise from Tunisia through West Africa - South Africa and back up East Africa. (Note: isn't it amazing how much it rains in Guinea? :stormy:)

Sorry, dont know if the borders are open. Was just trying to tie in as many places as I could. I guess Morocco is the starting point then.

Little question

If i compare the information of Nairobi with the BBC site, the numbers are not the same. Are your numbers an avarage of various sources?

Saved me some time, thanks for the info. When do you plan on leaving? Hope your new DR gives you less hassle than the last one.

I dont know what Jammin will say, but I have noticed that the BBC rarely agrees with the met office (even though they are linked). I have also decided that the met office is more accurate more of the time, so I would not put to much stock on the BBC.

Yeah, I used the BBC weather info if it wasn't available on the World Met Org site and you're right some of them do not sync up exactly, but I think since we're mainly going for a large scale overview, it's the range that matters.

If I had more time, I would look deeper into more sources, but there's only so much time :cool4:

ETA: I have seen some of your other posts, fantastic journey if you go.

I'm thinking it's time to go soon just cause I've been in this one place for way too long and if I'm going to go a multi-month trip, then why not just make it a multi-year trip...

The Plan is to spend 5 years riding from the US back home to India, through Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and around India. I've recently been told about "The slower you go, the cheaper it gets" so I'm planning this around the seasons of various parts of the world. Trying to leave towards the end of this year... (if I can borrow enough money for the trip :cool4: )

I have expanded on the chart above adding countries in ASIA and putting minimum tempertures as well

It's in excel format, so others could expend and save back
