Antarctica
 

Has anyone succeeded to get onto a ship in Ushuaia or Punta Arenas bound for Antarctica? Was it possible to take along the bike for the passage. Was it possible to offload the bike on Antarctica? I have the Lonely Planet guide for the continent. But it is quite vague on these questions.

It WAS possible - sort of. I was told - after we were two days out from Ushuaia - that we could have brought the bike along. bummer...

I told Benka Pulko that, and she did it. Couldn't ride it, just unload it and take a pic.

Apparently it is NO LONGER POSSIBLE. Pollution regulations. It was technically never possible, but not enforced.
