Best Route from Bolivia to Manaus (Brazil)
 

Hi to all,

I'm looking for information about the route from Bolivia to Manaus in Brazil. Does anyone know the road conditions of the TRANSAMAZONICA ROUTE. Is there a Ferry Boat alternative if the road is closed?

Its paved from the border with Brazil/Bolivia all the was to Porto Velho, so thats easy travelling.

I took a boat from there to Manaus. You'll have some fun loading the bike as there's no facilities there, you have to carry it down loads of steps.

Took a week to get from Porto Velho to Manaus, the river level was so low that it was too risky to travel at night & they broke a prop after hitting a sandbank.

Take a hammock, beer tokens and a deck of cards....its a really borin boat ride.
