Biker firendly accomondation in Turkey?
Hello
If you have any suggestion for biker friendly (bike secure parking which is important) accomondation around Canakkale and Cappadocia please share it with me. Thank you. |
Look on the bike friendly lodgings section at the bottom of the forum , saw a bike friendly hotel in cappadocia on there yesterday :thumbup1:
|
Its on page two of that section - Elvan Hotel . It has secure parking and a large outdoor terrace .

Kolin Hotel, Canakkale,

thanks for the tips guys

Having traveled extensively throughout Turkey I have found all hotels to be bike friendly. If secure parking isn't available you will be encouraged to park on the pavement right outside the hotel entrance and somebody will make it their night long mission to ensure that nothing happens to your bike.
Have a good trip. Cheers, Dicky |
Hi just to agree with Dicky. I travelled down to Turkey last year on my own, first time, staying in small hotels. The bike was always well looked after, even if on the street, apart from one hotel cat who left her hairs on my sheepskin seat cover! Great country, the bike was much safer than in UK.

I'm currently in Bayburt.
Found this very nice hotel Otel Bayburt Konaklama It's very clean, the food is delicious and the family who runs it is just awesome. They will make everything to keep you happy and entertained. Bike is safe and they will look after it like mentioned in previous posts. |
Hi Nicola, i hope u are enjoying ..
have you visited "Sürmene" ? |
I can't think of a safer country for your bike than Turkey. And the food's great as well.

Turkey is a huge country and several types of hotels from 2 to 7 starred ones, hostels, pensions available in all west anatolia towns according to your budget..
Best is see, check when you decide to stay in a town, ask, bargain and book..no advance booking needed except for big cities such as istanbul, ankara, izmir, adana, bursa. In most towns on inner anatolia lands, you can also stay at a teachers home ÖĞRETMENEVİ for a reasonable price which has nice gardens, parking lots, clean kitchen and rooms.. .Or pay 160 Euro per night for a double bedded room in a 5 star hotel such as kolin in dardanelles. Touristic and wellknown places are a bit expensive. Bikers generally travel with low budgets!! Best free and safe places are; 1- gardens in front of emergency departments of hospitals in good weathers. All has picnic tables and a nice canteen for drinks and food.. 2-Bikers festivals in all Turkish cities organised by local clubs for 3-5 days each allthrough summer months.. posters below for the ones that will be on within the coming weeks... On the other side; turkey is one of the most safe and friendly countries on the world for adventure travellers and you can meet most colors of modern life, natural life and orientalism here.. All depends to your way of travelling..Wish you all the best.. |
